Update

Hello all,

Sorry its been so long since I've posted, but the office (where the computer is) is the hottest room of the apartment so I don't spend a lot of time in here these days.

Everything is going really well. I'm about 36 weeks now, and the doctor says the baby could really come at any time. Apparently, my body is preparing itself for labour all ready, and I haven't even met my obstetrician yet (long story).

Jake has officially been granted his paternal leave (about time!) and has been landed ashore, which is good because the Halifax actually sailed today and won't be back until August 5th. Jake will be working ashore until July 26th, when he starts his leave.

We got the bed for the baby's room, where Gram will be staying while she's here in August (the baby will be in with us in the bedroom, in the bassinett, for the first little while anyways). The room is starting to look really nice, though I still have to put some artwork up.

We managed to get a rocking chair yesterday, a really nice one, from a garage sale for $5, and I'm in the middle of sewing a slipcover for the cushions. I've finished one set of curtains for the baby's room, but I still have to shorten the sheers, plus I want to make a valence for over the kitchen window. I'm so glad I bought this sewing machine - its been so much fun to play with (especially since I can just sit there while I do it). In fact, I spent yesterday sewing myself a satchel bag out of some gorgeous fabric I got on sale. I'll try and post some pictures of this and other things as soon as I can find the batteries for the camera. ;)

Be well, everybody,
