Today, we took the afternoon off and went down to Beacon Hill Park to visit the petting zoo. Its one of our favourite places here, and we're both really going to miss it. Here are some picture of the animals we saw:
There were a bunch of little baby bunnies, but this one was particularly friendly, even licking my hand.
This is me hanging out with a few of the baby goats, all of whom were trying to eat my clothes and purse. The goat pen is my favourite part of the petting zoo, since there are always lots of baby goats. People are always bringing their little children, making the place full of kids and kids. Seeing a bunch of toddlers waddling around after a bunch of rambunctious baby goats is just so cute.
A few of the baby goats were so small they still had their umbilical cords attached. As you can see in thisnext picture, some of the mamma goats were about ready to pop. Some, like this one, were almost as wide as they were long, and you could practically feel the little baby goats inside.
This little lamb, named Paprika, was born just last Saturday, making her not even a week old.
On our way out of the park, we noticed some people clustered around with cameras, and it turned out they were photographing this little turtle. Jake snuck up really close and got this picture, but then we realized that we could have just walked right up to it. It didn't care at all that we were there; we probably could have picked it up and kissed it if we'd really felt like it.
