Hi everybody,
I've managed to get a few minutes at a cyber cafe to check my mail and post a short message to you all. We're in Halifax now, and though things haven't gone quite as smoothly as we'd planned (a long story for another time), we're well and so are the cats.
We're living in a furnished appartment near our own place, and we'll hopefully be able to stay there until our stuff arrives (sometime around the 23rd, we hope). The cats are in our own appartment and seem to be settling in.
We had a bit of trouble finding a doctor (argh!), but we've got one now and we just came from our first appointment. Now we've just got to have my records forwarded. You should have seen the look on the doctor's face when she found out we didn't actually have the records with us - we would have, but our doctor in Victoria seemed to think it wasn't necessary. The baby is doing fine. He/she kicks all the time now, but apparently thats normal ;) Jake seems to think we're having a little soccer player, but sometimes I think we're having an entire team.
Halifax is great and we love it here. It is so much nicer than Victoria that the two just don't compare. We had our first big thunder and lightning storm last night, and it was just magical.
I hope to be able to post more soon, and to put up some pics of our new place, but until then 'adieu' from Halifax!

Dear Jake and Ellen, I am so pleased you are getting settled in Halifax and that you are enjoying it there. It truly is a beautiful city. We are glad to hear all is well with Ellen and the baby. We are really enjoying your blog.
